USA Today has listed the illustrated adaptation of Refresh, Refresh as one of the top ten comics/graphic novels of the year.

Ben has an essay -- "Me vs. Animals" -- in the now available Winter 2009 issue of The Paris Review.

Ben has an article -- "Go the Distance: What Rocky Taught Me About Submission" -- in the Nov/Dec issue of Poets & Writers.

In the Fall of 2010 filmmaker James Ponsoldt will begin filming "Refresh, Refresh" on-site in Central Oregon.

In October 2009, the Library of America published  American Fantastic Tales: Terror and the Uncanny from the 1940s Until Now , edited by Peter Straub. Ben's "Dial Tone" (originally published by Missouri Review) is included in the anthology as the final story. Order it now on Amazon.

Ben Percy was raised in the High Desert of Central Oregon. He received his BA with Honors from Brown University and his MFA with a teaching fellowship from Southern Illinois University.

Ben teaches creative writing (fiction and nonfiction) in the MFA program at Iowa State University. Prior to joining the faculty here, he taught at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Marquette University. Ben is also a faculty member at the Low-Res MFA program at Pacific University.

He is the author of a novel, The Wilding (forthcoming from Graywolf in 2009), and two books of short stories, Refresh, Refresh (Graywolf, 2007) and The Language of Elk (Carnegie Mellon, 2006).

His fiction and nonfiction have been read on National Public Radio, performed at Symphony Space, and published by Esquire, Men's Journal, Paris Review, Chicago Tribune, Glimmer Train, and many other publications.

When he isn't hunched over the keyboard, hammering out stories, Ben enjoys hiking, canoeing, fishing, skiing, and throwing back a few pints with friends and family.

He lives in Ames, Iowa, with his wife and two children.
